Campervan Mattress Toppers: Sizes, Thickness and Foam

A foam topper turns a firm rock and roll bed or van seat into a proper bed. Van beds vary between conversions, so the first job is measuring yours.

How to measure a van bed

  1. Lay the bed flat.
  2. Measure the length and width of the sleeping area in inches.
  3. Check what the topper must clear: seat belts, side panels, and whether the bed folds back into a seat with the topper on.

Our topper sizes

Our campervan mattress topper comes in six sizes for VW T4, T5, T6 and Mercedes van beds:

  • 68 x 48 inches
  • 72 x 36 inches
  • 72 x 43 inches
  • 75 x 35.5 inches
  • 75 x 47 inches
  • 76 x 46 inches

Other sizes can be cut up to 80 x 46 inches in one piece. Send us your measurements.

Which thickness?

  • 1 inch: a comfort layer on top of an existing cushion or mattress.
  • 2 inches: noticeably softer, still easy to fold and store.
  • 3 inches: the most comfortable, but takes more room when the bed is folded away.

Which foam?

  • White, 28 kg/m³: softer and lighter.
  • Blue high density, 33 kg/m³: firm support.
  • Memory foam, 60 kg/m³: moulds to the body for pressure relief.
